Top 7 Rooftop Bars in Bangkok for Sunset Cocktails

The rooftop bar scene in Bangkok is way above the rest of the world. The posh and lush places located above the skyscrapers or on balconies deliver an experience that is hard to find somewhere else.

These places are so popular that you will even see them added in some of the Bangkok holiday packages available in the market. But it doesn’t matter how you reach the city; once you are there, skipping these places is not the right call.

Don’t worry, we won’t let you skip them as our list of the best rooftop bars in the capital of Thailand is waiting for you.

1.  Vertigo & Moon Bar

No list of Bangkok rooftop bars is complete without this name. This place has some serious elevation to it as you will find it located on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel.

The views are amazing, as expected, and you are going to love it to bits. You can enter the premises without paying anything but the prices are a bit on the higher side. A couple of cocktails may cost you around 30 pounds. If this is too much for you, don’t worry; simply come here, take a few pictures and come back. They won’t charge you for the pictures.

2.  Sky Bar

It is the bar of the Sirocco restaurant whose popularity soared after it was featured in the famous “The Hangover 2” movie. With its fame came an increase in the number of guests and that was followed by a massive surge in prices. One of their best cocktails can cost up to 40 pounds; that’s some serious money. You can get a hostel for one night in Bangkok if you are a backpacker.

Although there is no entry fee, the guests are always present in large numbers. The views are nothing short of amazing from the 63rd floor and it is one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok.

3.  ThreeSixty Rooftop Bar

Hungry for some riverside views with amazing drinks and a view of Bangkok’s skyline? Then head to ThreeSixty at Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Well, this is not among the highest rooftop bars in Bangkok but is definitely an amazing place as far as the table availability and prices are concerned.

As it is located adjacent to the Chao Phraya River, you can get here much quickly and easily compared to the rooftop bars in the central areas of the city. The music here is also amazing as there is a dedicated rooftop jazz lounge. If you are lucky and ask before visiting, you may catch a live performance.

4.  Above Eleven

This rooftop bar is an excellent place to get a bit of New York’s taste in Bangkok. Its interior is inspired by New York’s Central Park. The bar is found on the 33rd floor with views that are not as great as Vertigo but get the work done for the price it offers.

You can get a good cocktail for 12 pounds and the prices of meals are also very reasonable. The food here is amazingly tasty and the atmosphere is quite relaxed and laid-back.

5.  Zoom Sky Bar

If you are looking for some amazing views and affordable prices, then Zoom Sky Bar on the 40th floor of the JC Kevin Hotel is a great place. This one is a fully open-air bar and offers a full view of Bangkok’s skyline.

The cocktails are exceptional and only cost around 10 pounds each. The food menu is unique and each dish is made with fresh ingredients. Mellow jazz beats are always played here and the crowds are not too much. You can easily find a good table without making a reservation.

6.  The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar

This bar is one of our favorites and will take you back to the classic and elegant era of the 1930s. Speakeasy can be found on the 24th floor of the Muse Hotel, which in itself is nothing short of a classic marvel.

We agree that the views are not as outstanding as the other rooftop bars in the city but its setting and experience make up for it. You are treated in the same way as in the 1930s. There is something special about this bar; rain won’t stop you from coming here, as it is completely covered. And that’s not all; the prices are quite economical as well. A couple of cocktails cost around 20 pounds.

7.  Octave Rooftop

Although the bar is not as high as you would want for a full view of Bangkok, it still does the job pretty well on the 45th floor. Located inside the Marriott hotel, this place offers chic cocktails and tasty food.

As the views are best when you are sitting outside, you might want to book ahead. Plus, the guests are shifted inside the lobbies when it rains. So, that’s a compromise you will have to make. One advantage of this place is that it is quite close to the Thong Lo BTS station.
